August 17-21

This week we will close the book (for now) on "2BR02B" and step back to the 19th century for another view of scientific progress in Nathaniel Hawthorne's "The Birthmark."  This one centers on a fairly dysfunctional relationships between a scientist and his wife -- it's a pretty thought-provoking story, so let's get our reading on!  Speaking of reading, remember that you will improve as a reader when you start working at it, looking for new ways to engage your brain.  Be sure to check out the strategies on the reading schedule, and read a bit each day to give yourself a chance to do well!
