August 10-14

This week we will move into our first unit questioning whether the new frontier of progress and innovation will lead to a better world.  We will look at two short stories, several poems, numerous articles, and one novel.  Whew.  All of these texts you will use to develop your vision of the future, considering how we can harness the potential of technology to build a happier, more prosperous, and more equitable society. Or on the flipside, the inability to accomplish these ideals.  It just depends on your outlook.  Are you an optimist or a pessimist?
