Week 9: October 6-10

Thursday in the lab – you have two goals:
  • Find four articles that help you learn more about your topic and draft a more compelling argument about the issue.
    • Remember to search directly at the websites for news organizations -- New York Times, ABC News, Fox News, Wall Street Journal, LA Times, NPR, PBS, etc.
    • Follow the "kiss a lot of frogs" rule -- look at a lot of articles in order to find the one that helps you best argue your point.
    • Remember that the point of research is to LEARN, not to verify.  If your article does not inform you of a new idea, then you need to find another article.
  •  Start looking at this page to find your choice short stories (2) and poems (3)

CONTACT INFO

Please email me freely with your comments and questions at krista.bowen@cobbk12.org. Although the school does provide me with voicemail, I have access to email much more readily. Please extend me the courtesy of one or two days’ time to respond. I also encourage students to speak with me directly as I will typically coordinate with students to handle resolutions.
